A park in the centre of Jarosław

Baśka Puzon Municipal Park is a small layout of barely one hectare in Jarosław, in the Subcarpathian region. It was created on the site of a former Greek Catholic cemetery, of which the relics of the Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God survive. Its patron is Czesława Puzon, a scout linked to the wartime underground, commemorated by a monument here.

What it looks like

The layout rests on a grid of surfaced avenues running between mature trees. Benches stand along them and a fountain works in the central part. The small scale means that walking the whole park takes a quarter of an hour, yet the greenery gives shade and quiet right next to the town's buildings.

Who it suits

The park mainly serves residents: runners and Nordic walkers in the morning, families with children in the afternoon. The avenues are passable with a pushchair and dogs are allowed on a lead. Open-air exhibitions, state ceremonies and concerts are held here — it is worth checking the municipal events calendar.
