Park Norweski lies in Cieplice Śląskie-Zdrój, the spa district of Jelenia Góra, in the Jelenia Góra Valley. It was founded in the early 20th century by Eugen Füllner, owner of the paper machine factory next door. The name comes from a pavilion built in the style of a restaurant in Oslo, which still gives the place its character.
The heart of the park is a pond with a stone bridge and the Norwegian Pavilion. Fifty-seven species of trees and shrubs grow here, including fruit trees, among them the thickest tree in Jelenia Góra — a silver maple with a trunk over 5 m across. The western and northern edges are marked by the Wrzosówka river, dammed at this point.
This is a place for a quiet walk, bird watching and a rest on a bench with a view of the surrounding hills. The paths are level, so prams manage easily, and dogs are welcome. The nearby spa centre of Cieplice makes it easy to combine the visit with a tour of the resort itself.
