The Raczyński Palace and its extensive park stand in Złoty Potok, in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland in Częstochowa county. The estate was created in the 1850s and is linked with two well-known families. Its successive owners were Wincenty and Zygmunt Krasiński, then Aleksander Raczyński and Count Karol Raczyński, who restored the property in the early 20th century.
The park is large, so it is worth setting aside extra time to explore it calmly. Picturesque avenues run through it — the Hornbeam and Maple alleys — and among the old trees grow specimens protected as natural monuments. The small Wiercica river crosses the grounds and feeds the Irydion pond. The former steward's building now houses the Złoty Potok forest district office, where you can learn more about the nature of the Jura.
Złoty Potok makes a base for exploring the northern Jura: trout ponds, limestone crags and hiking trails lie nearby. A walk in the park combines easily with a trip into the surrounding hills.
