Jerzy Waldorff Park is a belt of greenery stretching between Jana Pawła II Avenue and Jagiełły Street, right next to the old town of Słupsk. Locals call it the town promenade, because it was laid out along the line of the former moat and the earthworks that once surrounded the medieval city. After revitalisation it became a representative strolling park with paths, lawns and mature trees.
The park is named after Jerzy Waldorff, a music writer and honorary citizen of Słupsk associated with the Polish Piano Festival. He chose this spot for his daily walks whenever he stayed in town, and today's name commemorates that habit.
The park lies a few minutes' walk from the main monuments of Słupsk: the Castle of the Pomeranian Dukes, St George's Chapel, St Hyacinth's Church and the surviving fragments of the town walls. It works well as a break from sightseeing or as an approach to the centre from the car parks.
