Municipal Park in Nysa

ul. Powstańców Śląskich, Nysa

A historic park by the old moat

The Municipal Park in Nysa lies on the right-bank side of town, on Powstańców Śląskich Street, where the centre meets the Zamłynie district. It was laid out in the spirit of classic English gardens, with winding alleys and loose groups of trees. To the east it borders houses and allotment gardens.

What to see

Water is the park's greatest asset: a canal, a stretch of the old moat of the Nysa fortress and Swan Pond, where water birds nest. Impressive trees and shrubs, including rarer ornamental species, line the paths. The park has no extensive entertainment facilities and remains above all a place to walk.

Who it suits

A good choice for a stroll, Nordic walking and cycling, as well as for birdwatching. The western part merges gently into woodland, which allows the route to be extended beyond the park.

  • Paved walking alleys and cycling paths
  • Benches and resting spots by Swan Pond
  • Routes for Nordic walking and running
Cost: Free admission Visit duration: approx. 30 minutes Seasonality: All year round
