Saski Park in Sandomierz lies where the old town meets the newer part of the city, on Słowackiego Street. Thanks to that location it is easy to drop in during a break between visits to the monuments of Sandomierz, and crossing the park takes no more than a few dozen minutes. It is one of the most impressive green areas in town.
The core of the park is its mature stand of oaks, beeches, limes, poplars and chestnuts, with wide paved alleys running between them. They serve walkers as well as runners and cyclists. Benches are set along the paths, convenient for watching birds and the lush undergrowth.
The park has been adapted to the needs of visitors with limited mobility, with even surfaces and information boards. At the end of the main alley stands a historic water tower from 1936, a landmark and a natural goal for a stroll.
