Historic greenery in central Sosnowiec

Park Dietla is one of the larger green spaces in Sosnowiec, located near Orla Street close to the very centre. It owes its name to the Dietel family, nineteenth-century textile industrialists connected with the town. The layout of alleys and an old tree stand that gives plenty of shade in summer have survived.

What to see

The park has been thoroughly renovated in recent years: paths were tidied up, water features restored and new plantings added. Among the mature trees are deciduous species with substantial trunks, and the network of paths allows a walking loop of any length. Resting places and areas for children have been arranged on site.

Who it suits

A convenient stop for travellers crossing the Zagłębie region: admission is free, the grounds are open all year and the alleys allow a walk with a pushchair. Dogs are welcome on a lead. Shops and services are nearby.
