ul. Kresowa, Sosnowiec
Jan Fusiński Park, also known as Kruczkowski Park, Kresowy Park or Prus Park, stretches along the western bank of the Brynica and is both the oldest and the largest municipal park in Sosnowiec. Once the grounds were put in order it gained a clear layout of paths, viewing terraces and wooden boardwalks running above sections of greenery.
The heart of the grounds is an exotarium presenting plants and animals from distant climate zones. The tree stand itself is impressive too: black alder, hornbeam, silver fir, pedunculate oak, white poplar, aspen, ash and silver birch all grow here. The boardwalks and terraces allow the plant collections to be viewed from above, without stepping off the marked routes.
The park is equipped with benches, bicycle racks and a public toilet, and the space was designed with disabled visitors in mind — surfaces are even and level differences are gently graded. Entry to the park is free and dogs are allowed on a lead. The exotarium is a separate facility with its own visiting rules.
