Park Ludowy im. Wincentego Witosa lies in the central district of Bydgoszcz, between Jagiellońska, Piotrowskiego and Markwarta streets. It is one of the city's most frequently visited green areas — used both for everyday walks and for open-air events and celebrations.
The layout is based on a network of wide, comfortable paths lined with benches. Many native tree species grow here: limes, hornbeams, oaks and maples, and five specimens are protected as natural monuments. The greenery is complemented by recreational facilities — tennis courts, playgrounds for children and an amphitheatre hosting outdoor concerts and shows.
The park was laid out on the site of a former Protestant cemetery, which explains its old trees and regular plan. Nearby stand the Youth Palace and the minor basilica of St Vincent de Paul, one of the largest churches in Poland. A stop here combines well with a visit to Bydgoszcz's old town and Mill Island.
