A woodland escape from the city bustle

Las Falkowski lies in the south-eastern part of Nowy Sącz, around the Falkowa housing estate, with access from Botaniczna Street. It is a forest complex on undulating foothill terrain, a natural extension of the city towards the Beskid Sądecki range and a quiet alternative to the crowded centre.

The nature trail

An educational nature trail runs through the forest, with boards describing the tree stand and habitats. Mixed coniferous forest with oak, birch and spruce dominates, but an attentive observer will also find remnants of the former oak-hornbeam woodland, common ivy and peat moss in damp hollows. The differences in elevation keep the route varied.

Routes and access

Two trails cross the complex: a walking route from Falkowa to Kamionka and a cycling route from Librantowa to Kamionka Wielka. Allow about three hours for the walking trail and a little over an hour for the cycling one. The paths are unpaved and can be muddy after rain.
