Parkowa 5, Stalowa Wola
Park Charzewicki is the largest and oldest park in Stalowa Wola, set on the northern edge of the town in the former village of Charzewice. Its beginnings go back to the 18th century, when the Lubomirski family arranged a romantic-style garden here beside their residence. A vast stand of old trees and the readable plan of the original layout have survived to this day.
The main palace has not survived, but the park still holds the guest palace, a hunting lodge and a tower with flats for estate officials. The buildings have not regained their former splendour — after the war a state farm operated here and left the whole complex badly neglected. Even so, a walk between them gives a good sense of the scale of the ducal estate.
The park's particular value lies in its trees: alongside native limes, oaks and hornbeams grow species once brought from distant parts of the world. The Lubomirskis also ran greenhouses with plants and fruit from southern Europe. Admission is free and the grounds are open all year.
