A planetarium in the city of Copernicus

The Toruń planetarium occupies a former gasworks building on Franciszkańska Street, a few minutes' walk from the Old Town Market Square. Full-dome shows are screened beneath the dome of the projection hall, and two separate interactive exhibitions operate around it.

What to see

The visit has three parts. Under the dome you watch films about the Solar System, the constellations and the history of astronomy. The MARS#17 base is an interactive space station that visitors steer themselves. Geodium tells the story of the Earth's structure and history, complemented by a collection of rocks and minerals.

Who it suits

The exhibitions are designed for visitors aged four and over, the interiors are wheelchair accessible, and the visit works in any weather. Some shows are available in foreign-language versions, including English and German. Seats are worth booking in advance, especially at weekends and during school holidays.
