The Frombork planetarium operates inside the historic cathedral bell tower on Cathedral Hill, in the complex associated with the final years of Nicolaus Copernicus. The interior of the tower was adapted into a domed projection hall, and the facility forms part of the Nicolaus Copernicus Museum.
The programme revolves around the heliocentric theory and phenomena visible in the night sky: the motion of the planets, the phases of the Moon, eclipses and finding one's way among the constellations. A show lasts about half an hour. Arrive a few minutes early, as the eyes need time to adjust to the darkness.
Seats are reserved by phone or e-mail, and tickets are collected at the museum's main ticket office before the show. The visit is easy to combine with the cathedral and the other buildings on the hill. The historic tower has steep stairs and is not adapted for wheelchairs.
