The world of water in central Wrocław

Hydropolis is a centre for ecological education in Wrocław, arranged inside a historic underground clean water reservoir on Na Grobli Street. The entire exhibition is devoted to water: its role in nature, in cities, in the ocean depths and in the human body. The visit takes place indoors, whatever the weather.

Zones and installations

The exhibition is divided into seven themed zones, complemented by temporary displays. The narrative relies on multimedia and interactive installations that let you test phenomena yourself instead of merely reading about them. In front of the entrance works a water printer, the longest installation of its kind in Europe at about 46 metres, serving as a curtain that parts before visitors.

Good to know

A full visit requires at least two hours; along the way you can rest in the designated zones or in the café on site. The interiors are adapted for pushchairs and the way the content is presented works well for children. The building stands by the Odra, within walking distance of Ostrów Tumski.
