The Centre for Education and Regional Promotion in Szymbark lies at the foot of Wieżyca, the highest hill in Kashubia. It is a sprawling site combining open-air museum buildings, record-breaking structures and leisure facilities, designed for a visit of several hours by families and school groups.
The grounds hold replicas and relocated buildings telling the story of Kashubia and of Poles in the East, among them a house standing upside down and the Siberian Deportee's House. The Snuff Museum operates separately, and at the Kaszubska Korona brewery you can watch beer being made and taste local varieties.
Children have a playground, a rope park and an XD cinema at their disposal, while school trips are offered educational programmes. Recurring events are held here during the year, including the World Reunion of Siberian Deportees and the Santa Claus Rally. Sightseeing takes place mostly outdoors, so choose footwear to match the weather.
