Geology written into the city

Geopark Kielce is a network of geological sites scattered across the city, tied together by the Geoeducation Centre on Daleszycka Street. The facility was created beside the former Wietrznia quarry and tells the story of the Earth recorded in the rocks of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains.

What to see

The Geoeducation Centre is filled with multimedia displays, educational games and demonstrations. Individual visitors see the exhibition “CHRONOS Underwater Research Mission” and a screening in the time-capsule cinema — on their own, with a virtual guide or as an outdoor game. Outside await the Geological Garden of Experiments and the walls of the old quarry with exposed rock layers.

For groups and families

Organised groups choose either a variant with classes in the Geolaboratory or one extended by the GEOlogical game in the garden of experiments. Recurring events run all year, such as Geo-Winter Holidays and Geo-Santa days. Some attractions lie in the open air, so a fine day is best for the visit.
