A science centre near Chęciny

The Leonardo da Vinci Science Centre operates in Podzamcze near Chęciny, in the palace park beside the Regional Science and Technology Centre. It is one of the largest facilities of its kind in Poland, set at the threshold of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains, a few minutes' drive from the castle in Chęciny.

What to see

The exhibition is built on stations that visitors operate themselves: the Physicist's Wheel, Tubular Bells, Newton's Cradle, the Light Harp, the Water Vortex, the Gravity Funnel, the Ames Room and the Acoustic Telegraph. Each demonstrates a different law of physics at work, from acoustics and optics to gravity and mechanics.

The patron's exhibition

A separate section is devoted to Leonardo da Vinci: models of the machines he designed and reproductions of his paintings. The centre also runs science workshops for children and young people. The visit combines conveniently with the castle ruins in Chęciny and the nearby Raj Cave.
