Muzeum Wsi Lubelskiej is one of the largest open-air museums in Poland, spread across a wide site in the Czechówka valley in the northern part of Lublin. Visiting means walking outdoors along paths that link cottages, farmsteads and buildings moved here from across the region.
The collection is divided into sectors matching historical lands: the Lublin Upland, Roztocze, Powiśle, Podlasie and the Bug river area, plus a manor section and a small-town street. Interiors are furnished in period arrangement, with tools and everyday objects.
The museum is active all year, most intensely from spring to autumn. It hosts craft workshops, demonstrations of old farm work, harvesting, haymaking, potato digging and fairs. The grounds are extensive, so it is worth allowing plenty of time.
