Arcybiskupa Jakuba Świnki 1, Uniejów
Zagroda Młynarska is a small open-air museum in Uniejów, set beside the thermal bath complex and the castle, near the Warta river. It gathers the wooden rural architecture of central Poland, relocated and rebuilt on site: a manor house, a cottage from Skotniki, a barn from Besiekiery, a livestock building and post windmills, which give the whole site a silhouette recognisable from afar.
The interiors are filled with displays showing the daily life of villagers over the past two centuries — old farm tools, household equipment and horse-drawn carriages. Workshops devoted to traditional rural culture are an equally important part of the offer, among them “The ABC of bread” and “The mysterious world of windmills”. After the tour you can take a ride in a carriage or on horseback.
This is a good stop for families with children: the grounds are compact and the programme is built around doing things rather than reading boards. A visit takes about an hour and a half, and combining the museum with the thermal pools and the castle of Uniejów easily fills a whole day of your stop.
