Lwowska 226, Nowy Sącz
Miasteczko Galicyjskie is a branch of the District Museum in Nowy Sącz, laid out on Lwowska Street as a reconstruction of a small-town square from the years of Galician autonomy. The buildings are modelled on real houses from Stary Sącz, Czchów, Lanckorona, Ciężkowice and Krościenko — with arcades, wooden porches and joinery detail recreated from surviving records.
The greatest value lies in the interiors of former workshops and shops: a colonial store, a mangle room, craft workshops. Craftsmen work in some of them, a potter among others, so the exhibition is watched in motion rather than from behind glass. Around the square there are period-styled venues — the “Lwów Confectionery”, the Imperial-Royal Galician Inn and the Imperial-Royal Galician Café.
The site works well with children and in uncertain weather: the ground is flat and accessible for pushchairs, and a large part of the attractions is under a roof. A visit takes about an hour and combines well with the neighbouring Sądecki Ethnographic Park.
