Dobrzączka, Chęciny
Centrum Neandertalczyka operates in Chęciny next to the Raj Cave and is a natural complement to visiting it. The exhibition was prepared together with the Scientific Association of Polish Archaeologists at the State Archaeological Museum in Warsaw, and its subject is the life of Neanderthals and human development in the Pleistocene.
The display covers the daily life of Ice Age inhabitants: tools, hunting techniques and ways of coping with the cold. It also presents genetic research that has recently changed our picture of the Neanderthal and revealed his kinship with modern humans. Highlights include a 3D hologram of a skull, a life-size mammoth replica, casts of early human skulls and staged scenes from settlement life.
The visit takes place indoors, so the weather does not matter. Multimedia and films make the exhibition accessible to children, and the stop can be combined with the cave and the castle in Chęciny.
