Piastowska 14A, Opole
The Museum of Polish Song works in Opole, on the grounds of the Millennium Amphitheatre — the stage that has hosted the national festival of Polish song for decades. The amphitheatre lies at the foot of a hill, next to the old town of Opole. The display tells the story of native song from the 1920s to the present.
Objects are combined here with multimedia. Two music walls with touch screens let visitors play fragments of songs, videos, concerts and interviews with artists. In the so-called lenses the historical background against which successive hits appeared is presented.
Every visitor receives an audio guide with headphones and sets their own pace — the visit can be cut to an hour or stretched much longer. The recording booth, where you can record your own take on a favourite song, enjoys great popularity.
