An interactive centre in Śródka

Brama Poznania is the Interactive Centre for the History of Ostrów Tumski. The concrete building stands above the Cybina river in the oldest part of the city and is linked by a footbridge with Ostrów Tumski and the remains of old fortifications. It is a narrative museum — without classic exhibits.

What to see

The visit is led by an audio guide, while projections, sound and light carry the story. The exhibition covers the beginnings of the Piast state, the baptism of Poland and the history of the first cathedral. The route is linear and designed to be walked at your own pace.

The surroundings

Afterwards it is worth crossing to Ostrów Tumski and the cathedral, and in the other direction to Śródka — a district with a popular mural and cafés. The site is close to the centre of Poznań, suitable for pushchairs and works in any weather.
