A regional museum in Praszka

The museum in Praszka stands on Plac Grunwaldzki in the town centre, on the border of Silesia and the Wieluń region. It was founded on the initiative of the archaeologist Professor Konrad Jażdżewski and from the outset collected material documenting the life of local people — their work, customs and folk culture.

Departments and exhibitions

The collections are divided into historical, ethnographic, archaeological, natural history, art and technology departments. Permanent displays cover the prehistory of Praszka, its role in the plebiscite and the Third Silesian Uprising, an old pharmacy, local nature and regional industry. Temporary exhibitions complete the offer.

Good to know

Among the exhibits, the collections of coins and minerals and the historic pharmacy furniture stand out. The museum runs museum lessons, lectures and competitions about the region's history, so it works well for families. The entrance is adapted for pushchairs and the visit takes place indoors.
