The House of Toruń Legends stands on Szeroka Street, a few steps from the Old Town Market Square, in a tenement house from the early 20th century. It is an interactive museum where tales connected with Toruń are presented through theatrical staging, sound and light, with the visitors themselves taking part.
Groups move through successive rooms in which performers act out Toruń legends — about the raftsman and the frogs, about the gingerbread bakers and about the leaning tower. Instead of looking at display cases, visitors join the scenes, so the tour has a fixed starting time and lasts under an hour.
The format works best for visits with children, but it also entertains adults who want to discover the city through its stories. The museum organises workshops, city games and guided tours of the old town, which is inscribed on the UNESCO list.
