An open-air and nature museum in Roztocze

Zagroda Guciów lies in the Wieprz valley, in the heart of Central Roztocze, on the road from Zwierzyniec towards Zamość. It is a working farmstead combined with a private museum: a wooden homestead, a barn and a granary, around which ethnographic, natural history and geological collections have been assembled.

What to see

The rooms hold displays of old rural household equipment, alongside fossils and minerals from the area and a meteorite collection. Visits usually come with the owners' own narration, which ties the history of settlement in Roztocze to the geology of the valley. On site there is an inn serving regional food and a shop with local products.

The surroundings

Guciów makes a convenient base for the Roztocze National Park: Bukowa Góra, Zwierzyniec and the Rudka reservoir are all close by. Walking and cycling trails run through the village, and loess ravines and open hilltops stretch around it. The farm also arranges cart rides and outdoor events.
