Bohaterów Warszawy 19, Międzyzdroje
The cabinet stands on Bohaterów Warszawy Street, the main pedestrian avenue of Międzyzdroje, a few dozen metres from the promenade and the Avenue of Stars. The collection numbers several dozen figures and is the largest display of its kind in the country. It is busiest in the summer holidays, when the resort fills with visitors.
The exhibition began with likenesses of Polish politicians and actors; today it also covers music and sporting stars, historical figures and characters from cinema hits. The figures are set in arrangements you can pose beside, and photography is included in the ticket. Visiting is self-guided and takes roughly an hour.
Międzyzdroje sits on the edge of Wolin National Park, close to the cliff trails, the bison enclosure and a wide beach. A visit here is a standard plan for a day of poor weather; on the way, look at the Avenue of Stars with the handprints of Polish actors, and at the pier.
