A farmstead in the Land of Checks

The Albrecht Farmstead, a branch of the Museum of Pomeranian Folk Culture, stands in Swołowo near Słupsk. The village lies in the so-called Land of Checks — a region of half-timbered architecture, of which several dozen buildings have survived here, the largest number in the area.

What you will see

The farmstead has a closed layout: the dwelling house, cowshed, barn with cellar, henhouse, well, garden and pasture form a quadrangle typical of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. It belonged to a wealthy farmer, so its furnishings reflect a higher standard of rural life. Inside are farm tools, machines and everyday objects, while the cowshed houses the exhibitions „Brewing in Swołowo” and „Pomeranian Cuisine”.

Who it suits

The place works well for visits with children — workshops and museum lessons on old crafts and regional cooking are held here. Much of the grounds is accessible to wheelchairs, and the quiet village invites a walk beyond the farmstead itself.
