A museum without labels on the exhibits

The Museum of Bread, School and Curiosities operates in Radzionków, in the Tarnowskie Góry district of Upper Silesia. It is a private institution built around two themes: historic baking and a school of several decades ago. The exhibits deliberately carry no captions — a guide leads the tour and visitors work out for themselves what each object was for.

What to see

The display consists of baking equipment, tools and interior furnishings from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, supplemented by archival documents going back to the 16th century. A separate section is a reconstructed classroom with wooden desks, where you can sit down and examine old school supplies.

Who it suits

The format, based on storytelling and guessing games, works well with children and on days when the weather rules out outdoor attractions. Individual visitors are joined to groups, so allow for some waiting time. The museum takes part in the Industriada festival and European Heritage Days.
