Jamneńska 24, Koszalin
Zagroda Jamneńska is an open-air museum run by the Museum in Koszalin, set up in the former village of Jamno, today a district of the city lying between Lake Jamno and the Baltic Sea. It recreates buildings typical of the area in the 19th century: a farmer's cottage and the barn standing beside it. For generations Jamno preserved a distinct folk culture, and the whole exhibition is devoted to it.
The cottage holds everyday utensils, work tools, painted furniture and pieces of the regional costume. The barn is divided into an exhibition part and an interactive one: you can study a map of old Jamno, try on a copy of the traditional dress and meet the julki, the goblins of local folk tales. Mobile apps prepared by the museum support the visit.
A visit takes about an hour, works in any weather and is friendly to children thanks to the interactive elements. Craft workshops and cultural events are held in the barn, so it is worth checking the calendar before arriving. The museum lies away from the busy centre, close to the shore of Lake Jamno and to seaside Mielno.
