Świerkowa 11, Wieś Piła
Górnicza Wioska lies in the village of Piła in the Tuchola district, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. It grew out of an unexpected discovery: at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries a lignite mine operated here, the only one of its kind in northern Poland. Enthusiasts reconstructed some of its elements and built the village's entire offer around that history.
The visit takes the form of play: guests become treasure hunters searching for miner Wilhelm Krüger's hoard, meet the ghost of the Skarbnik, view an interactive model and walk the sensory trail of Bosy Antek. There are also period games and an animal enclosure. Organised groups can look inside a reconstructed headframe and a section of the shaft of the „Montania” mine.
It is above all a place for families with children and school groups — the programme combines play with learning about coal extraction. The village also hosts corporate groups, conferences and team events. It is worth allowing more time than the size of the site suggests.
