Marynarki Polskiej 62 A, Ustka
Muzeum Ziemi Usteckiej stands on Marynarki Polskiej Street, close to the harbour and the promenade. It collects mementoes of the town and its residents and at the same time works as a local cultural centre, hosting temporary exhibitions, openings and meetings. A visit usually takes about an hour.
The core of the display consists of everyday objects from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries — photographs, typewriters and sewing machines, bubble washing machines, old cameras, enlargers and lamps. Small details from the resort era draw attention: a hundred-year-old skate and a bathing suit from over a century ago.
The museum holds the largest collection of paintings and sculptures by Michał Stroiński, an artist linked with Ustka, as well as Poland's richest collection of models of vessels built in the local shipyard. The whole display is indoors, so it works well on a rainy day by the sea.
