A museum in the heart of Upper Silesia

Muzeum Miasta Mysłowice occupies a building on Stadionowa Street and documents the history of the town from the earliest times to the 20th century. Archaeological, historical and ethnographic collections are shown with modern display techniques, which makes the story of the residents and their material culture easy to follow.

What to see

The core of the exhibition consists of photographs and objects from the 20th century, complemented by archaeological finds from the Market Square and Grunwaldzka Street. Separate parts are devoted to the Silesian Uprisings and to work at the “Mysłowice” coal mine. A zone clock from Gustav Becker's factory, made in 1877, draws attention.

Who it suits

The exhibition works well on a rainy day and is family-friendly, while the building remains accessible to pushchairs. Organised groups can book museum lessons combined with screenings of documentary films about the Silesian Uprisings and interwar Mysłowice.
