The Beekeeping Museum in Stróże is a private institution north-east of Nowy Sącz, run alongside a large apiary farm. The exhibition shows the beekeeper’s work and the journey of honey from the hive to the jar, as well as its uses in cooking and food processing. Visits are guided.
The exhibition cottages hold the equipment of old beekeeping workshops: honey extractors, presses for making foundation wax, climbing ropes used by forest beekeepers and cages for rearing queen bees. Next to them stand everyday tools from a rural household. The best-known exhibit is Poland’s largest log hive, entered in the Book of Records and Curiosities.
The museum runs classes and workshops for families, organised groups and school trips, introducing bee keeping and honey processing. On site there is the „Bartna Chata” restaurant serving regional food and the „Miodowa Spiżarnia” shop, while the recreation grounds invite you to stay longer than the tour itself.
