The Donnersmarck palace in Nakło Śląskie

The Silesian Culture Centre occupies a 19th-century neo-Gothic palace that once belonged to the counts Henckel von Donnersmarck. The building stands in a park in Nakło Śląskie in the Tarnowskie Góry district and combines a museum with the work of a cultural institution.

What to see

Visitors can walk through the state rooms with their period furnishings: historic furniture, paintings by Wojciech Weiss and mementoes of the former owners. The displays are devoted to the art and culture of Upper Silesia, while the palace halls also host concerts, lectures, conferences and temporary exhibitions.

Who it suits

The centre offers music, photography and art workshops for children and teenagers, and runs regular events through the year, among them „Twórcy Kultury Śląskiej”, „Metamorfozy”, „Wiosenne aspiracje” and „Szlachecki weekend”. The surrounding park lets you combine the visit with a walk.
