The Salt Works and Spa Treatment Museum stands on Solna Street in Ciechocinek, in a disused part of the plant that still produces salt. The exhibition brings together the two threads that shaped the town's identity: salt boiling and spa medicine. A visit usually takes about an hour and leads through intimate industrial interiors.
The collection holds salt-making tools and equipment, archive photographs documenting the growth of the health resort, old therapeutic gymnastics apparatus and a model of the graduation tower. The display explains how brine is turned into edible salt, as well as into the mud and lye used in sanatorium treatments. It is rounded out by the story of a technology that has changed little since the 19th century.
The museum lies within walking distance of the Ciechocinek graduation towers and the spa park, so a visit combines easily with the rest of the resort's attractions. It is a good choice for a rainy day and a child-friendly one.
