A pavilion in Staszic Park

The Peasant Homestead in Częstochowa is a branch of the Częstochowa Museum, set in Stanisław Staszic Park close to the city centre. The building was erected in the early 20th century as a model peasant homestead and served as a pavilion of the Industry and Agriculture Exhibition.

History of the building

It was designed by Zdzisław Kalinowski and Czesław Przybylski and is today one of the few surviving elements of the former exhibition complex. In the early 21st century it underwent a thorough renovation that preserved original details: the tiled gable roof, the porch and the brick arched vaults.

What you will see today

The building hosts temporary exhibitions on regional folk art and local history, and also runs creative and folk workshops. Its small size means the visit is short and combines well with a walk in the park and a call at other branches of the museum.

  • Ticket office at the entrance
  • Temporary exhibition rooms
  • Entrance accessible for wheelchairs and prams
  • Park surrounding the building
Visit duration: approx. 1 hour Seasonality: Open year-round
