Jaworzynka 720, Wieś Jaworzynka
The “Na Grapie” Regional Museum operates in Jaworzynka in the Cieszyn district, among scattered hillside farms near the point where Poland, Czechia and Slovakia meet. It was created on private initiative by the local poet Jerzy Rucki, who gathered mementoes of the highlanders of this part of the Silesian Beskids.
The grounds hold a small open-air section: a smoke hut from 1920, a forge and a barn. Inside are farm implements, tools, costumes and everyday objects showing what life and work on a mountain farm looked like. The display is intimate and shown in person, which leaves plenty of room for storytelling.
The museum teaches old crafts — butter making, sewing kyrpce highland shoes, cross-stitch embroidery and weaving baskets from spruce roots. During special events the groups “Mali Zgrapianie” and “Zgrapianie” perform songs, dances and regional rituals. It is worth arranging the date of a visit in advance.
