The Jan Wałach Art Museum stands in the hamlet of Andziołówka in Istebna, in the Silesian Beskids. The building was the family home and studio of this painter, printmaker and sculptor, and the museum was created to protect and promote his legacy.
The display holds watercolours, oil paintings, gouaches, drawings, woodcuts and sculptures. Beskid landscapes dominate, along with genre scenes from highland life, historical subjects and still lifes. Mementoes and personal belongings of the artist and his family complete the exhibition.
Traces of the old farmstead survive around the house: a well, access lanes, yards and paths, while the farm building has not been preserved. The museum lies off the main road among the scattered settlement of the Beskid Three Villages and combines well with a tour of Istebna, Jaworzynka and Koniaków.
