Batalionów Chłopskich 11, Dzierżoniów
The Hilbert Mill in Dzierżoniów is one of the few nineteenth-century industrial plants in Lower Silesia preserved in full, together with its equipment. Until the Second World War it belonged to the Hilbert family, then passed through successive hands — it was administered by the Red Army and later by state enterprises.
The greatest value of the site is its complete production line from the 1930s: milling machines, sifters and drive belts stand exactly where they worked. The mill ran without interruption until 2016 and without major modernisation, so visitors see genuine technology rather than a reconstruction.
In the nineteenth century this was the largest and most modern mill in Silesia; its flour reached Berlin, Saxony, Brandenburg and East Prussia. The building survived the war undamaged. Today the site is cared for by the Foundation for the Protection of Silesian Industrial Heritage.
