The regional museum in Szczecinek presents the history of the town and its surroundings through archaeological, military, goldsmithing and hunting collections, supplemented by paintings, old prints and coins.
The Regional Room follows the fortunes of Szczecinek from the Middle Ages to modern times, with works of art and products of local craftsmen. The Nobility Room is devoted to the Pomeranian gentry, with furniture, parlour furnishings, portraits and old maps of Pomerania. The Garrison Room shows the history of troops stationed in the town from the late 17th century, the Hunting Room weapons and equipment, and the Silver Room tableware, cutlery and jewellery.
The museum runs lessons, lectures and competitions devoted to Szczecinek and Pomerania. All displays are indoors, which makes it a good choice for a rainy day, and the building is accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
