The museum's main seat

The Burgher House is the main building of the Museum of the Puck Region, standing on the Old Market Square in Puck. Its displays lead through the history of the town and of the whole Puck region, from prehistory to the 20th century.

What to see

The visit begins in the cellars, which hold archaeological finds from the Stone and Bronze Ages, including the hoard from Władysławowo linked with the Lusatian culture. A separate highlight is an amber hoard from the 2nd century AD, uncovered during works on the foundations of the Teutonic castle. The museum also shows the results of the 1977 survey that revealed an early medieval harbour on the bed of the Bay of Puck, together with a dugout boat.

Good to know

A further part of the exhibition covers Puck's relations with Gdańsk (Danzig), the Teutonic and Prussian periods and the Second World War. It is completed by a reconstruction of burgher interiors from the second half of the 19th century. The building is accessible for wheelchairs.
