Sculpture in a former manor estate

The Centre of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko, south of Radom, is the country's only institution devoted entirely to contemporary sculpture. The exhibitions occupy the restored palace, annexe, orangery, chapel and farm building of a former manor estate, as well as the extensive landscape park that surrounds them.

What to see

The galleries present works by leading Polish sculptors, among them Magdalena Abakanowicz, Krzysztof M. Bednarski, Teresa Murak and Maciej Szańkowski. A separate attraction are the working studios – foundry, carpentry, ceramics and blacksmith – where visitors can watch artists at work. The palace retains its nineteenth-century interiors from the time of the painter Józef Brandt.

Park and activities

The park works as an open-air gallery: a collection of outdoor sculptures is arranged among old trees and best seen on a walk. Schools and kindergartens can book museum art lessons matched to successive stages of education.
