The manor of the founders of Gorlice

Dwór Karwacjanów in Gorlice is one of the oldest buildings in town – the family seat of the Karwacjan family, who founded the town, and during the Reformation also an Arian meeting house. The restored walls now hold an art gallery, with a café and a small hotel alongside.

Exhibitions

Two exhibition rooms, one small and one large, present contemporary art with a clear focus on the young generation of artists and the latest trends. Shows change roughly every month and cover painting, printmaking, drawing and sculpture.

Cultural life

The manor also serves as a venue for recitals, chamber music concerts, private views, meetings with authors, performances, plein-air workshops and academic conferences, so it is worth checking the current programme before a visit. In front of the building stands a monument to Dersław I Karwacjan, unveiled on the anniversary of the town's founding.
