A museum in a former family home

The Walentyna Dermacka Regional Museum stands in Piecki in Masuria, in the house once lived in by the sisters Walentyna and Maria Dermacka, who founded it. It is a small, intimate regional museum built entirely around the private collection and the passion of its creators.

The collection

The core of the display is a large collection of ceramic figurines: saints, literary characters, historical figures and Nobel laureates, alongside scenes from old village life. Next to them are wooden sculptures and carved pictures, as well as furniture, household equipment and vessels once used on Masurian farms.

Activities and events

The museum runs clay modelling workshops, activities for children and young people, and gatherings around a campfire. Through the year it organises events highlighting regional traditions, including “Willow Tales”, the Ceramics Festival, the Feast of Bread, Milk and Honey, and the Night of Museums.
