The Natural History Museum in Kazimierz Dolny occupies the Ulanowski Granary on Puławska Street, one of the Vistula granaries that recall the town's former grain trade. The museum is a branch of the Vistula Museum and presents the natural wealth of four regions: the Małopolska Gorge of the Vistula, the Nałęczów Plateau, the Chodel Basin and the Bełżyce Plain.
The exhibition covers the flora and fauna of the Kazimierz Landscape Park as well as local geology: the loess ravines for which Kazimierz is famous, and the limestone rocks exposed in the Vistula valley. Permanent displays are complemented by temporary shows devoted to selected habitats and species. The visit is short and entirely independent of the weather.
The museum runs educational activities for children and school groups — themed workshops, museum lessons and nature walks — as well as cultural events for adults. It complements a stroll around the market square and a trip into the nearby ravines.
