A gallery in the heart of Bydgoszcz

The Main Building of the District Museum in Bydgoszcz stands on Gdańska Street in the very centre of the city, in the former Municipal Clinic. Today it serves as an art gallery and is one of several sites making up the museum spread across the city.

Exhibitions

The display „PICTURES/UN-REALITIES” gathers artists' statements about their own creative work and its sources. The second exhibition, „Jan Stanisławski and his pupils”, comes from a donation by the actor Leonard Pietraszak and his wife: 58 paintings, including five canvases by Stanisławski himself and works by his students – Kamocki, Gałek, Karpiński, Hofman and Procajłowicz.

For visitors

The museum runs lectures, openings, temporary exhibitions and educational workshops for children, teenagers, families and seniors. Its central location makes it easy to combine a visit with a walk along the Brda river and around Mill Island.

  • Ticket office in the main building
  • Toilets for visitors
  • Rooms for educational workshops
  • Paid municipal car parks in the centre
Visit duration: approx. 1 hour Seasonality: All year round
