Dominikańska 5-9, Słupsk
The Museum of Central Pomerania in Słupsk occupies a group of historic buildings on the river Słupia: the Castle of the Pomeranian Dukes, the Castle Mill, the Mill Gate, a manor house and the Richter and White granaries. Most of them are open to visitors; the Red Granary awaits restoration.
Some thirty thousand objects are arranged into sections covering regional history, craft, early art, numismatics and the ethnography of Pomerania. The museum owes its greatest fame to the world's largest collection of works by Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz – Witkacy – above all his pastel portraits.
Museum lessons, workshops and educational games are organised for children and young people, along with themed lectures for adults. Touring the whole complex takes at least an hour, and its riverside setting close to the centre invites combining the visit with a walk.
