A museum by the Mały Rynek

The Hieronim Ławniczak Regional Museum stands in the very centre of Krotoszyn and deals with the history of the town and the Krotoszyn region. Its collections include mementoes of former residents, documents and photographs, and the institution serves the town as a centre of cultural life.

Collections and library

Besides the display, the museum keeps a library of some five thousand titles devoted to the history and culture of the region; part of it has been made available online. Temporary exhibitions take up patriotic, artistic, natural-history and regional themes, so the programme changes through the year.

Events and classes

The calendar brings back regular events, among them the Night of Museums, the feast of the 56th Wielkopolska Infantry Regiment and the re-enactment “Wehikuł czasu”. For school groups and families about forty museum lessons are on offer, covering the history of Krotoszyn, regional ethnography and former inhabitants.
