Bałtycka 2, Wieś Nadole
The Farmer's and Fisherman's Homestead in Nadole is a small open-air museum, a branch of the Museum of the Puck Region, set on a slope above the shore of Lake Żarnowieckie in the northern part of Kashubia. The institution was created to save the material culture of a village threatened by the planned nuclear power plant in Żarnowiec. The plant was never launched, but the homestead remains and works to this day.
The core of the exhibition is a 19th-century farmstead of a wealthy gbur, a Kashubian farmer: a cottage with original furnishings, a stone cellar, a cart shed, a horse mill, a well, a bread oven, an apiary and a vegetable garden. Next to it stands a reconstructed fishing farm with a cottage, a net room, a mangle room and a smokehouse. Inside, farming tools and beekeeping equipment are on display.
A visit takes about an hour and works well with children, as the grounds are compact and the route leads between several buildings. The museum runs workshops devoted to vanishing crafts and old farm work.
